Clarion Inn, Merrillville

My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The rooms, although better than I expected and clean, were not the most tranquil due to noisy kids. The service left something to be desired as I was unable to get a couple of tablets I needed. However, the location was very convenient with lovely views over a small pond, and the dining experience, while not perfect, offered substantial options compared to similar places.

My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The room had enough space to use a rollaway bed, but it was dirty, so I had to switch to a second room which was freezing. The service was hit or miss, with a staff member not that friendly except to their friends visiting. The location was great, looking out over a small pond with a mini waterfall and bridge, providing privacy and safety. The dining experience left much to be desired, with very limited selection and cold food. Overall, it had its positives and negatives.

Arriving after a long journey from the UK, the hotel surprised me with quick and pleasant service in addressing a minor issue in the room, despite the poorly performed wall repairs right next to the bed. The location, while somewhat isolated and tricky to reach, showcased a unique attraction, although resembling Jurassic Park in need of maintenance.
